Artist statement
My work explores traditional painting techniques, using abstract forms and structures to play with colour and emotion. I aim to make big and beautiful paintings. I am particularly interested in how I can establish new forms of symbolism based on minimal and post-modern visual languages. My work is inspired by Richard Tuttle and his interest in objects and artefacts. My current work aims to find an inner peace through combining structured and fluid forms of mark making, introducing personal narratives and situating myself within the painting.
